Coaching is a 1:1 interactive experience where we take time to discover your goals and your passions, explore your belief and understanding of these elements in your life today, and use them to help you travel down a path to the life that you aspire to in the future.
I specialise in transformational coaching and can apply this to life coaching, professional, developmental and executive coaching, it really does work for anyone who is open and willing to be coached and to change. Therefore I will work with anyone who is committed to wanting to change something in their lives
Coaching helps you to explore your own internal beliefs and values to help you to unlock the next steps that you will take. For this reason, the coach is usually not an expert on the subject matter being discussed. A mentor is typically someone who is experienced in the specific or broad subject matter, and will often offer advice. Counselling tends to be practiced utilising a certain psychological approach or theory, and therefore there are many different types of counselling that are on offer. Counselling tends to also be grounded in past events, experiences or traumas which are worked through in order to better understand current behaviours and beliefs. Although coaching is also focussed on an individual's beliefs and values, it tends not to focus on how these shape an individual, instead coaching uses these to understand how action may be taken differently in the future with these things as well as the current circumstances in mind. When you book in for an introductory session you will receive a form which will ask you for a few focus areas that you want to explore through coaching, and it is these topics that we can talk through in more detail on the call. I will then explain the coaching process, what a typical session might involve, and we will have a short amount of time to put some coaching into practice. I will then explain the bookings process and next steps with you. There is no obligation to commit beyond the Introductory call.
It is 100% confidential
I am a respectful, calm, deeply attentive coach who will support you through the coaching process, and at times will ask some challenging questions. My approach is grounded in a variety of well established transformative coaching models and processes.
It's important to have the right chemistry with your coach before the sessions commence. It is in my interest also to make sure that I can fit your needs. An introductory session is a great place to start. All I ask is that you are open and motivated, and we can achieve great things together.
It is not uncommon for positive results to start showing in just a few sessions, but like most things in life it's part of a journey, and not everyone's experience will be the same. I would usually recommend a course of 6 sessions to achieve and start reflecting on outcomes
Coaching sessions can be just as helpful hosted on an online video conferencing platform as they are face to face. I cater for both types of sessions and wouldn‘t underestimate the value of meeting together, or a combination could suit. This is something that we can discuss in more detail during your introductory session
You are welcome to bring anything to a coaching session to discuss with me, but there are certain topics which I may advise seeking specialist help and support for, particularly with regards to topics that may lend themselves more to counselling or therapy, or topics of a legal concern. I will inform you if this is the case
